The Experience

Kenyan coast is probably one of the oldest tourist circuits there is. It forms one of the oldest tour packages of Sand, Sun and Sea. However, the coastal circuit provides more than beach attraction. This circuit comprises of various attractions from Amboseli National Park all the way to Watamu marine park The coastal circuit is renowned for its white sandy beaches, warm tropical climate, coral reefs, and turquoise waters, making it a prime destination for leisure, relaxation, and marine tourism. Amboseli National Park

Although located inland in southern Kenya, Amboseli National Park is commonly included in coastal tour circuits as part of combined safari packages. Amboseli is famous for its large elephant herds and breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak. Amboseli is famous for large herds of elephants walking the plains and sometimes wading in the swamps. Established in 1974, Amboseli national park is run by the Kenya wildlife service Accessibility: This park is accessible by road and by air. Tsavo West National Park

Size: 9,065 sq kms Tsavo west national park borders Tsavo east to the east and is separated by Mombasa Road. It is the second largest game park in Kenya just after Tsavo east. Tsavo West is home to some of the most amazing and surreal geographical features on earth. The wonders of mzima springs, shetani lava and Chaimu areas sights to behold. Established in 1948, Tsavo west is managed by the Kenya wildlife service. Accessibility: Tsavo west is accessible by road and air. By road it can be accessed via Mtito Andei at the Mtito Gate, Oloitoktok road via Chyulu gate, Taita taveta via Ziwani Gate and at Tsavo river gate on Mombasa-Nairobi Highway

Tsavo East National Park

Tsavo East National Park

Size: 13,747 sq kms Tsavo East is that largest national park in Kenya in terms of land mass. Founded in 1948, Tsavo East is managed by Kenya wildlife service and is home to most of the largest mammals and the biggest herds of elephants in one sighting. The vast scattered vegetation of Tsavo is also rich in birdlife. Home to the red elephants, Tsavo west and east form a complete ecosystem for the thousands of elephants roaming freely within these two parks. Accessibility: Tsavo east is accessible both by road and by air. The park can be accessed through Malindi-Sala Road with entry at Sala gate, through Voi town through Voi gate, Bachuma at Bachuma gate, at Manyani through Manyani gate and at Ithumba via Ithumba gate. By air, Tsavo west can be accessed through airstrip located near voi gate at Ndololo Accommodation: Ashnil Aruba, Voi safari lodge, Voi Wildlife Lodge, Ndololo Lodge, Satao camp, Salas camp, Galdessa Camp.

Arabuko Sokoke forest reserve: Remnant of one of east Africa’s coastal forests, Arabuko Sokoke is home of the endangered species of birds and mammals such as golden-rumped elephant shrew and Sokoke scops owl. Located in Kilifi County, Arabuko soke covers an area of 420 sq kms including the karacha extension. Established in 1968, this forest vegetation is home to over 230 species of birds. Accessibility: Arabuko is accessible via Malindi-Mombasa Road.

Marine Reserve: Kisite Mpunguti reserve

Size: 39 sq kms Kisite mpunguti can be summed up in one word “Home of the Dolphins” This protected area is the best conservation area for marine creatures. Located in Kwale county south of wasini near Tanzania border. Kisite Munguti can be accesed from Diani Town or Kwale-lungalunga road. Established in 1978 and managed by the Kenya wildlife service, the park was created to protect the scenic islands and wide arrays of marine creatures endemic to the southern Kenya. Taita Hills Conservancy and Lumo Community Wildlife Conservancy: Size: 48 sq kms (Lumo conservancy) 110 sq kms (Taita Hills wildlife conservancy) Taita hills and Lumo Community conservancy provide a wildlife dispersal area within the Tsavo ecosystem. Lumo conservancy is a community owned wildlife conservancy near Taita Taveta. This conservation merger is one of the success stories in sustainable wildlife conservation and Tourism. Taita hills wildlife conservancy is a private reserve. Accessibility: these two conservation areas can be accessed by road via Voi-Taita Road.
